I came to AACC in 2001 and have taught composition, developmental writing, American Literature, Bible as Literature, and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I enjoy helping students learn to view writing as an obtainable skill as opposed to an inborn talent; I have a particular affinity for assisting with grammar/mechanics and documentation.

Since 2015, I have been teaching composition at AACC, as well as tutoring in the Writing Center. I appreciate the opportunity to work with students at each stage of the writing process, from helping them brainstorm and organize ideas through the final editing process. My goal as a tutor is to support students as they become confident, precise, and successful writers.

I have been working at AACC for twelve years, teaching ENG 111/112 and tutoring in the Writing Center. Before teaching English, I worked as a graphic designer/art director and writer/editor in the marketing/communications and publication fields. What I enjoy most about tutoring student writers is helping them clarify their bright ideas and present them in an organized way so that readers can understand and appreciate their perspectives.

I also teach English and Communication at AACC. I am a career educator with 40 years of teaching and 36 years of Higher Education administration experience. I have taught English and Communication courses at AACC since 2019 and have taught at other colleges and universities since 1981. I enjoy helping students establish success skills whether in the classroom, as an administrator, or as a tutor.
