Before working at AACC I served distance learners as a librarian at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly the Tai Sophia Institute) and Prince George’s Community College. I also teach research and information literacy skills in our library classrooms and occasionally at the reference desk.

I really like helping students find logic and beauty in the writing process, especially with complicated or mysterious concepts like grammar. I have been tutoring writing in one way or another for ten years. I have taught ENG 111 here at AACC, and I have experience with 121 and 002 at other schools.

Since I was an undergraduate, I have been involved in the field of writing--as teacher, tutor, and professional editor. In Fall 2013, I began tutoring in the Writing Center at AACC.
		Dr. Jessica Rabin (Writing Tutor) ********APPOINTMENT TIMES: EVENINGS: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 5pm********BIO: My name is Jessica Rabin, and I am currently Professor of English and Director of Writing Tutoring. I came to AACC in 2001 and have taught composition, developmental writing, American Literature, Bible as Literature, and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I enjoy helping students learn to view writing as an obtainable skill as opposed to an inborn talent; I have a particular affinity for assisting with grammar/mechanics and documentation.
		Ms. Jamie Grim (Writing Tutor) ********APPOINTMENT TIMES: EVENINGS: Sundays 6pm and 7pm********BIO: My name is Jamie Grim. Since receiving my MA in Literature from Wake Forest University, I have spent over six years tutoring and editing in academic and professional contexts both in the United States and abroad. Through these experiences, I have discovered my passion for providing academic assistance to students and helping them to reach their academic and career goals.

I started working at Truxal Library in August 2016. Prior to coming to AACC, I worked in many types of libraries, including public and law. Most recently, I worked for ten years at the Annapolis Library. I am also taking classes towards a paralegal certificate at AACC.

Since 2015, I have been teaching composition at AACC, as well as tutoring in the Writing Center. I appreciate the opportunity to work with students at each stage of the writing process, from helping them brainstorm and organize ideas through the final editing process. My goal as a tutor is to support students as they become confident, precise, and successful writers.

Before coming to AACC, I taught AP English Language and Composition, journalism, and newspaper production in the Anne Arundel County school system. A lover of words and sentences, I enjoy helping students discover the best ways to say what they mean.
		Ms. Kasha Mutscheller (Writing Tutor) ********APPOINTMENT TIMES: AFTERNOONS; Wednesdays 4pm; EVENINGS: Wednesdays 5pm********BIO: My name is Kasha Mutscheller. I have been working at AACC for twelve years, teaching ENG 111/112 and tutoring in the Writing Center. Before teaching English, I worked as a graphic designer/art director and writer/editor in the marketing/communications and publication fields. What I enjoy most about tutoring student writers is helping them clarify their bright ideas and present them in an organized way so that readers can understand and appreciate their perspectives.
		Dr. Marsha Taylor (Writing Tutor) ********APPOINTMENT TIMES: MORNINGS: Fridays 10am and 11am; AFTERNOONS: Fridays noon, 2pm, and 3pm********BIO: My name is Marsha Taylor, and I have enjoyed the opportunity of assisting students in the Writing center since January 2019. My background in writing and instruction includes teaching ESOL for 20 years in the public schools and doing teacher training in the same field. Prior to coming to AACC I served as a writer/editor for the Department of Defense.
		Ms. Dorothy Parrish-Harris, JD (Writing Tutor) ********APPOINTMENT TIMES: EVENINGS: Thursdays 6pm and 7pm********BIO: My name is Dorothy Parrish Harris and I am currently the Director of Disability Support Services at AACC. I also teach English and Communication at AACC. I am a career educator with 40 years of teaching and 36 years of Higher Education administration experience. I have taught English and Communication courses at AACC since 2019 and have taught at other colleges and universities since 1981. I enjoy helping students establish success skills whether in the classroom, as an administrator, or as a tutor.
